Voyagers getting ready for a day on the Hoback

The Jackson Hole Kayak Club has been providing river paddling opportunities to Jackson’s youth since 1996. Each year, athletes ages 8-18 experience the beauty, excitement and importance of our local waterways through our whitewater kayaking programs. With a focus on fun and safety, we create an environment where young athletes can utilize the sport of kayaking as a vehicle for self discovery and dynamic decision making. We help young people explore river environments, building skills and confidence to last a lifetime!

We currently offer four different skill and age-based groups over the course of the summer. Visit our programs page to find out whether or not your child is a Muskrat or an Otter, and what that means! Our diverse program offerings allow us to cater to all abilities, from never-ever kayaked, to charging class IV boaters, and everything in between. Our location in Jackson, WY creates unparalleled access to a wide range of different rivers and sections, making no two days on the water the same. Our team of highly trained and enthusiastic coaches create a safe, trusting environment for young athletes to explore, step out of their comfort zones, and grow on the water.

Beyond paddling instruction, the JHKC hosts the Wyoming Whitewater Championships, Bear River Race, and Deb Martin Memorial Slalom, puts on the Wild and Scenic River Festival with the Snake River Fund, and participates in area river conservation and restoration projects. It is important to us to stay involved in our community’s wellbeing.

To ensure that every interested youth can participate, we annually raise funds to support program subsidies and scholarships. To learn more or to donate to our scholarship fund, please visit our scholarship page.

We hope you can join us on the water!
